I am so pleased to welcome Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club to Apps By Angela, and I want to say a huge thank you for working so closely with me as we shaped the next stage of the platform.
Some of the best improvements come from real clubs using the app properly, asking good questions and sharing honest feedback. Forest of Dean helped me look carefully at how the existing tools work in real club life, where the app could feel smoother, and how it could do even more to celebrate children's progress.
That work helped shape improvements to skill cards, including badges children can earn as they complete skills, achievements shown clearly on their profile, and yearly club anniversary celebrations with confetti and balloons.
It also helped shape the next step for bookable sessions: existing members can book in the app, while new families can book through a public web link without needing to become members first. Their details are saved, so if they decide to join later, the club already has what it needs.
Forest of Dean also helped shape a big upgrade to notifications, making them much more useful for real club communication. Messages can now be sent to the people who actually need them, just like notifications: classes, selected parents, coaches, staff, locations or the whole club.
Behind the scenes, the admin side has also been tightened with member cancellation dates, coach timetables, reports and clearer charge tracking, so clubs can see what needs action and what has changed.
